Murmuring Heart

We come to know the power of love
As days turn into years
The love we lost still wends its way
Into our fallen tears

It makes the heartbeat skip a pace
And wets a flushing cheek
Oh, heart of mine, a love is gone
And you are growing weak

Where once you throbbed within my breast
When thoughts of him would creep
Your murmuring, once vibrant tunes,
Now lulls my eyes to sleep

Oh, Elizabeth, this is so tender and lovely, with a bit of sadness to make us feel the yearning in your words...I really enjoyed reading this, as I do with all of yours..~S~

Very nice.  I really like it.  My heart also murmurs softly over what wasn't.

The heart-throbbing excitement of new love turns into that quiet and peaceful contentment over time, which is a good thing, I think. After all, how long would any of us live if our hearts were rapidly pounding all the time?!

This was a touch sad but did give me a feeling of peaceful contentment at the end.

Well done, as always, Elizabeth!

dealing with loss. I don't know how Rj. and I have lived through it. It's a good
thing that God didn't tell us first, we most
likely would have taken different roads.
my heart bleeds, but the love shared
can't be replaced.

this is a jewel. dale & Rj

(big hugggssssss) Oh Elizabeth, this is gorgeous but the ending made me cry, sweet friend, I hope this doesn't relate to you and now true love always sings in your heart like a canary! (kiss on cheek) Let the carols always echo in your heartstrings, sweet friend, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
