Discordant Dreams

mind fumbles,
stumbles,
rumbling over the
sheets of sleep,
dreaming, dreaming
deep…

somehow you
feel that my lips
under yours
would say more

so we converse by
hand and body
mimicry

saying more than
we've said
before

~*~

you knew all of the spots
along my back,
down my hips,
inside my thighs,

triggering them
softly

still feeling the
knead and pull of you

there, in that second floor's
room, meant only
for our memories

some feelings
stayed
you went
away

why?

~*~

revisiting yesterday
I’ll remove bandages
you remove layers
time will bring
us back
to us

for I would feel you
again beneath
fingertips
watch as you
catch your
breath in
recall

realizing today
won't bring back
what we've lost
but it’s a good
beginning

opening eyes to
see you,
realizing I
don't want to
kiss you with
eyes closed,
you will disappear
again

~*~

only my mind hears the
haunting
your words as you
left,
taunting
exclaiming no one will
ever know you
like me
how those words set
this reverie

in your shadows I still
lie
and in retrospect, I have
tried
to think of you and
deny
oh yes, oh yes, I really
try

but your fingertips
still caress
warm lips
still know where to rest
so this is why the
mind is weak
you still bring my senses to
peak
the recall and memory
of you
I would still want that
love of
two

~*~

you only step into
the shadows
far enough for me to see
the form of you
but I feel the
warm of you
for you have ever permeated
all of me beyond
reason...

come again, come now
please me once more
with more than a penetrating
glance lift me and
mine spirits
for I would know the whole of
you, even if I dally with
shadows

allow me again to lift my
face to yours, and feel your
fingers once more trace my
throat and downward
to what still quivers under
your touch

you've never felt me
call for you more
than I do
now

and my mind,
with a sense of its own,
reaches outward
to you,
I wait to rain inside
once your touch
brings back that which
so much
has waited for...
has waited on...
has waited...

no longer a shell,
but complete, again
replete, again,
and I would sip, again
the wine of you...

before your shadow passes

and leaves but embers
in your footsteps

and winter mantles
my death...

~*~

you are not so black
of heart
m'love
that the sun could
not impart
my love
upon that which you would
chart, m'love,
a course on the river's
wild, m'love,
nor would you then
revile my love

so take in thought
of 'morrows to come,
and not of sorrows
hum
but a course in the
river's wake, my love,
and of a giver's sake,
m'love...

~*~

mind fumbles,
stumbles,
rumbling over the
sheets of sleep,
waking slow in
morning’s light,
and wondering where
went the night….

Decca...this is one of your very finest...
I fly in the flame of your poetry and touch the warm.
Outstanding write poetess!!!!

Where the touch of lovers end and the soul of friends begin,
there's a need to be separate and a need to be one ...
it's struggle neither wins.
