Give Me the White

Give me the white of a fresh fallen snow
Glittering softly in sun’s early glow
Crystalline blanket on meadow and hill
Echoing silence and lone morning trill

Give me a soft breeze that kicks up the crust
Swirled winter whispers in whirlwinds of dust
Brushing the cheek with a powdery slice
Of tingling touches of fine crispy ice

Give me the pureness in breaths of delight
Filtered by snowflakes that fell in the night
Fill up my lungs with the pureness of air
And leave me in silence and wonderment there

Bundled in warmth by the rapture of dreams
Awed by the icy white magical scenes

Liz, this is just beautiful, but can't we please have green, green, green and some lovely warm weather. I've had my share of the cold, white stuff!

Elizabeth,

This is wonderful. The line:

..."icy white magical scenes..."

causes all kinds of memories to flash.

I so enjoy your poetry.

Thanks, Hugs, Pat

Reminds me of growing up in Germany
and the times I would just live for the snow
Thank you
