~~I chose this for my 4000th for two reasons. The song that inspired this is the song I sang for my university auditions, which have all went very well. The other reason is that this poem describes me now, looking back at the things that happened through this summer and through the time I didn't post here so much. I hope you enjoy it. I love you all!!~~

Ye now are sorrowful
I mourn the dead
Always mourning the dead
I bow upon the hardened ground
I shed a tear, and then another
For those who can’t
And those who won’t
Shed a tear for me

But ye shall again behold Me
And your heart shall be joyful

I open my eyes and look to the sky
The darkened tone turn lighter
Oh, so slightly lighter
Shadows of a dawn to come
But to come in a far distant day

And your joy no man taketh from you
Hope? No… no… that died
I mourn for hope as well

Look upon Me
I venture a glance

Ye know that for a little time
Labor and sorrow were Mine

Yes, yes
Many mourned as I do
I’m not the first to suffer loss
Even the Greatest wept…

But at the last I have found comfort
I dry my eyes
I make myself stand
I mourn no more over dusty graves
Over images and models of lost things

Ye shall again behold Me
For the true things shall rise
Not today, but someday
I shall hold them again
They shall be mine
I shall be theirs
Shall behold Me
And I shall see them again
Shall behold Me

** Italics from Brahms "German Requiem" which is, in turn, from the King James Version of the Bible.

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

a real look at yourself. i can't help but think at the auto-bio story you posted in prose and compare the contents of this to that - very cool and intersting.

good luck!
