Resting while questing,
moon’s gaze overwhelms as
darkened thoughts push aside
the light of midnite,
and shadows of gloom
take over the room
where my heart does hide
from forces outside
the boundaries of life
as I know them.
Into the darkness
rides a huge horse
named Doom,
and his stride is longer
than my Peace mare’s.
I try to awaken,
but my eyes are shut tight.
I fear this dark Doom
crowds out my Peace light,
and I desperately need
more light to see
my way out of all
the world’s misery.
This is not a 'woe is me' cry,
for I’ve heard this plea
from many like me,
who want something true
to hold onto,
and the only truth I can see
is captured in the darkness
that surrounds you and me.
The light of midnite dims
with each slap and blow
from the hateful hands
of our collective inhumanity.
The shadows are darker now,
and I fear the midnitesun
will set before God’s intended time.

I've removed this as a book submission.

(big hugggsssssss) I wish I could say "I beg to differ!" but depending on how others contort the light and darkness I fear it too can happen! (sad sigh) This is powerfully urgent, sweet friend, I send angel hugs your way, you have my enlightening vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I like the way you turned both doom and peace into concrete things, I do that myself a lot. (Turn abstract ideas into concrete things, that is.)

That's what we, as heroes, do. We live as if the world were like it should be, to show the world what it could be.

Hugs back to you Noah. Bring out your spare flashlights.

Welcome to Passions, Amara! Yes, they do seem to take on more depth when turned into 'concrete.'

Throughout life shadows have always played ....
but not in such a frightening light.

You can lead a horse to water ...
but not conquer Doom's torrential thirst.

Your 'mare's peace will find
rest at the end of endless night

If only the soul thats pure
minds the rest we quest first.

          Happy trails ... everyone.
