I Hear Your Voice

I hear your voice telling me to walk on
It’s there in the light of the dawn’s new song
The whisper of the clouds as they flow by
It’s there in the murmur of a soft lullaby
I hear you still and my heart beats race
Then I think for an instant I see your face
But there’s no joy, because you’re not here
And down my face slips another iced tear

In a room full of people I heard you say
Be well my beloved enjoy this day
I feel a soft touch and I know that its you
And the feelings of love come tumbling through
My face flushes and I seek out your hand
For a brief moment I do understand
But then I remember you’ve gone from me
And my soul writhes in anguish bitterly

Alone in my room I heard you again
You said my darling be free from the pain
The tears that I cried dried up instantly
As I leapt from my seat to hold you to me
I looked all around, searched high and low
No sign did I see so the tears again flow
Death holds you I’ll not see you again
Yet I hear your voice still it eases the pain

Your voice I hear still it’s within my soul
And I’ll carry it always to keep me whole

Marsha

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds

Marsha,

It is true that a love firmly held within a heart--does not disappear, but rather makes memories those that we have loved deeply--tangible, toucheable things.  Such as hearing their voice--as your peom so beautifully demonstrated.

Thank you very much for sharing this,

--Matt

Beloved
when the world ends and you are rejoined - you will recognise him by his voice, his touch, his essence of love. So glad to see you writing and perhaps beginning to move on.*hearthugs

Hello Marsha

I can relate so very well to your heartfelt words and know how you must be feeling.  It takes such a long time to get over losing someone you loved dearly.

Here is a little something for you :

"Love is a power too strong to be
overcome by anything but flight."

"To the world you are someone
but to someone you are the world."

"We are all angels with only one wing.....
we can fly only be embracing each other."

Take care my friend
