night snow

whisper soft the snowflakes fall
caressing the air in puffs of white
hushing the night
shutting down the random
sounds of life outside the window
turning the world in peaceful
grays under moonglow and blue kisses

i pull up the blankets of quiet
breathe in the silence
as i quiet my mind
and wrap winter's cocoon around
me in blackness
to hibernate a night time
as the hush of white
covers the world
preparing its glory to
burst with sunshine
on ice crystals
for my morning waking

Oooh abbe - you painted the picture of me last night in bed as the snow blew it's own blankets all around my house. We will start digging out as soon as we get the nerve up to go outside! lol. Great write. Chris
