Listening to every heart

To Thee, I Sing….

To Thee, I sing…

I have a scene, crest of blood in wave
My memory of child
The tides had turned, quick thought of me
A poet, caught, in wild…

Then cumbered few encumbered me
Those times they were so bleak
We ducked, then hid, and still flags flew
As strong grew from those meek

Still those waves, they curl me in
Though landlocked now I be
The whims of tide still carry me
And red my blood still be

In blue I find the courage now
To tell the truths that lie
Within my heart, my courage be
A declaration, cried

And I find that when I speak
The meter is now found ~
‘Tis courage is as courage does
And I shall stand my ground.

Speak thy heart, and speak thy soul
A key to all held dear…
This I speak, when waves I seek,
Red, blue, white, it’s clear…

To thee, I sing.

Lovely, Karilea. I, too sing! I can hardly resist putting my right hand over my heart as I read this.

Yes! Showing ones true colors, admirable. I liked this much the first time around and like it so much could not help but respond again. Very good, Karilea.

Like this poem! If I have time, I hope I can translate it into Chinese.
