Déjà vu

Like Rosenthal in Oakland, California,
The right to die voiced in Oregon too.
The will of the people exterminated,
Swept under a carpet of red, white and blue.

Your flock seems to be changing in color,
Resistance from both north and south.
If indeed your concerned with this nation,
Shove what’s blocking your ears in your mouth.

Though your incredibly gifted in silencing,
The voices of those who disagree.
Paranoia and threats,imprisonment nor death,
Won’t stiffle the will to be free.

To your young falls a uphill battle,
One like before that was won.
While your busy screaming world order,
From those who care here at home you’ll be stung.

Live like it's your last day...
Dance like nobody's watching...
Love like you've never been hurt...

BBent, Having spent thrity+ years in the East San Francisco Bay Area, Oakland-San Leandro-Castro Valley-San Lorenzo-Hayward-Fremont-San Ramon, and the list goes on, you'd think I'd recognize the name Rosenthal, but I don't...who is that, might I please ask? (have been away from SF Bay Area 2+ years)

BBent,

Thanks for the info. Had seen something on a PBS channel today regarding the jury, re: Rosenthal. (Ugh, the situation) Haven't chance to read in depth, but, agree no point in discussion here. Again, thanks for the links, look forward to learning all I can. Sincerely, Pat

have looked in on the article..and like here as well, the powers that be try to 'cook' evidence for conviction a lone marajuana user while letting more serious crimes like those by organized crime get through the cracks..give me a break

HEY, RAY!
Once again, you've highlighted another truth
about 'justice'....it's much easier to capture and convict a Rosenthal rogue than an Osama outlaw.
Amazing how shortsighted justice can be, isn't it?

Ray, since I don't have time this morning to go to the links you left, I won't even comment on the situation you're speaking of. I will read them after I get back home tonight.
.
.
I just wanted you to know that I did read your poem, and I think it's very good that we can voice out opinions on this site. Don't you? I don't think that any two people are ever going to agree totally on every subject. But, that's what makes it so great about our nation, isn't it?

Heart Hugs to you,

i know exactly what you are talking about bud (no pun intended). i want to ask your permission to show this to a few people around Cal's campus - they might want to read it at a couple demons, or protests.

majnu...I find nothing wrong with people voicing there political opinions. It's a way of becoming a goverment of,by and for the people once again rather than the us and them we've become. If you feel it could help towards that end feel free to use it in any means you wish. Thanks for your time and thoughts.
