He tries to justify the way he said it
But it is that very way that makes all the difference
Life manifests hidden truths in between the lines
It was there I saw the indifference

Fair weather love makes me bitter
But on a sunny day a deep breath changes my mind
When the sweet north wind blows
I leave the past behind

Everyone knows the wind warns
of a danger yet to come
However, I do not heed their cries
to come in from the impending storm

And inevitably a storm then rages
and I see the clouds have formed
To cover the sun that blinded me
And kept me from hearing what the whisper warned

How easy it is for you to talk through me
You've looked passed me too many times to count
It appears so simple for you to walk away
I can't reach you from this far down

You think you've kept your promise
Your jaunty smile says "I'm still here..."
But my heart finds yours miles away
Bitter fear causes these bitter tears
