I’d made Oklahoma City same day I left.
Knowing I needed to look up Gary
And collect the money he owed me
For that horse I sold him last spring
Was not adding to my pleasure.

I found him sitting in the Horseshoe,
Where you can usually find him
Unless he is out on a trade
Trying to make someone believe the Mare
He has for sale is genuine gold.

We chatted and drank a cold one
Before he handed me the 1200.00
And  laughed about me not wanting to ask.

Business out of the way
I thought about calling Lacey.

I dialed her number from a pay phone
Alongside a fairly new Quik Trip
That also had a good selection of
Things you didn’t need but could buy
Just because you couldn’t find
What it was you really needed.

She answered on the third ring
“Lacey?” I asked.
“Yes” she said in a hesitant voice
“Travis, I just called to see if you wanted company.”
“Can you call later” she said, “I might be interested but have company.”
“Sure” I replied.

“Davis” I said to myself
and figured another night away was probably best
so calling back would wait until tomorrow
and I’d try not to think about her showing her bed to him.

(smiles) Wow! Oh my gosh, I envisioned this like a drama movie, him hesitantly answering the phone, frustrated after trying 9 times, then her grave tone coming in and after hanging up the phone his mind reeling and eyes flickering with dismay! (big hugggsssssss) This is marvelous, let's see how the owl is going to cry next, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
