The Flower Does Not Bloom You give me a flower on Valentines Day The flower doesn’t bloom You say it is a symbol of your love The flower will not bloom I pamper the flower in a fine glass vase Shower it with sunlight But it will not bloom The flower doesn’t bloom Instead it wilts and dies Without ever showing its beauty The flower is a symbol of your love The flower never bloomed. |

This brought to mind a flower that was given to someone after a funeral of a dear friend of mine. The family had given flowers to both myself and this other person. The other person and the dearly departed had not spoken in several years and her flower died that same weekend. I had been best friends with this person and my flower stayed beautiful for at least a week after the services. It sure made me think of the power of love. Dawn |
