I feel like a giddy school-girl,
Just getting to know her but still,
She isn't allowed to date but still;
All my emotions so often fought back,
Every bit as if oatmeal brought to boil
With surface explosions spreading me.

I feel like the sky is bluer,
Her father is fanatical but still,
Chances are slim to none but still;
Hopes that I had squashed for fear,
Now rising like sweetened smoke
For all the fates to smell and taste.

Bravado must do where my courage has failed,
If it serves me well I will be happily haled.

I love this one! Especially this great line:
"All my emotions so often fought back,
Every bit as if oatmeal brought to boil
With surface explosions spreading me."

Here it is in the middle of the night and now you have me thinking of the oatmeal and raspberries I'll be eating in the morning...James
