A kite is a Kite

I fly my words with paper strings.
That turns the breeze on paper wings.
Amongst the gold and blue and green.
Held in folds of hues serene.

I see them hobbled there in space.
And seldom comes an upturned face.
A thought, a wile, a dream of style
A fantasy, a misty smile

I am suspended in the rhyme.
In floating brine in floating time
A spirit on a phantom road
And croaking like a wanting toad

I ride upon this carpets swish.
With humble food within my dish
And stretch my hands out to the sky.
To fly and fly and fly and fly

I seek a net to stop my let.
At least beget, a place to set.

Love kites.  Used to fly them often, 'till a briar field ate them all.  It was a horrible sight.

Sy,

In spite of some of the other more in-depth lines of this poem my favorites because they cause me to feel good are these two simpler ones:

"and stretch my hands out to the sky,
and fly and fly and fly and fly."

Yes, I love those...as I do the entire poem. Thank you so much,

Pat
