Jewels of the Sky

The sun begins to hide her face
While slowly creeping down
Then brandishes her brilliant jewels
Upon a golden crown
The spectrum disappears in time
And darkness treads the ground

The little stars come one by one
And twinkle in their mirth
Popping through the dark of space
Reflecting on the earth
The sky shows off a million diamonds
Flaunting jems of worth

The moon has but a subtle glow
As she appears in space
No timely yearn, she waits her turn
And moves at lunar pace
No jewels can quite compare to this:
A halo round her face

Elizabeth, I can hardly wait
to see which poem you may submit
to Reflections...

perhaps, this one?

Elizabeth,

So beautiful. The title perfect. The imagery perfect, as if I was standing under a gorgeous night sky. He the best artist of us all. And you the best poetess to describe such.

I so enjoy your poetry, Thanks, Pat
