She liked cotton
White
And linen
Fine.

Old-fashioned lace
To lie on swell of breast
Enticing
With poets shirt
Veed.

I only remember warm days
Though the seasons changed
And flannel longs
Took the place of nude
Until the covers
Found us both
Wrapped in
Comfort.

We knew soft sunlight
Streaming floors
With long shadows
And evenings
Of t-shirt
Teasing

Always cotton

Sheets fine counted threads
Numbered our sighs
While caressing the bare
As we wrote in hieroglyphs
On memory

Today
I stepped from shower
Looking for those glyphs
Trying to remember
What they meant.

This was spell binding. Very well done...saddened at the ending.

you write the ache of recall from places
deep..and touch places deep in the reader..that is the gift.

seems you a becoming the staple of many a library poet sir...
that should tell ya something...

Soft, this is soft. I picture neutral colors - sand, muslin, earth.

But, nearly always, there is sadness
to close your poems, dear one. Hmmm, I'm wishing you a Hollywood ending someday.

"always cotton"

"sheets fine counted threads"

Have we met? Damn! You sure can write.
I know, you just observe....

The two things I love most in life...
you put in this poem; cotton and the highest thread count sheets I can afford...

Though sad, at least this one didn't make me cry....hardly...

Enjoying your poetry tremendously.

(smiles) I suppose to recognize the glyphics again you just have to read it in a tangible sort of way by feeling deep down to the heart of it! (sigh) Sometimes it can be so exhausting and you wonder if you'll ever feel the same way again, this is very heartfelt, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
