I had been watching the cloud build
Starting as it did on the horizon
With cotton candy fluff teasing blue
Then slowly turning grey and grow.

West Texas dust stuttered against the window now
In gusts much cooler than the oppressive day
And high off the bottom of the anvil
Streaks flashed brighter than the sun
Which still held reign on this stretch
Of dual lane lonely

Angry purpled black in threaten
Ate the remaining blue
Obliging me to find the dim headlights
A comfort

The rumble now
       In bass
            Echoed

To syncopated splat

Wipers on I peer
Not only for center line guides
But for those wisps of you
          I see in every storm

They dance in spray
   Naked
       Raw

Whirl in splendid eddy
    At passing

And disappear
     Like you

Sometimes
   The wind blows me off
      Any guiding lane

And I know again for a minute
   How it was
      With you

Cpat Hair - like the way the West Texas storm flowed into how it was with her...

This is so perfectly written. I enjoy the entire description of the sky and storm brewing, just this side of a tornado about to develope and how you manage to tie it in subtly, but just the switch of one or two sentences, of a painful love gone wrong....

so talented!!! Enjoy greatly, Pat

storms can be exhilarating and frightening at the same time...this one was all of that as well as quite enlightening of "her"

Enjoyed.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

The building storm is such a great allegory to a love going bust.   I enjoyed this very much.  KJ

BRAVO!!! Oh my gosh, how strange the geographic location's weather can so very much relate to the turmoil and forecast deep in yourself! (sigh) Well, in Arizona, it is 85% sun every year so looks like the extended forecast will be tame, yay, can't wait to see where we go from here, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I wonder how does it really feel when you get that feeling that you "nailed one?"  It must be wonderful!  Would have loved to see this in the book but then you have so many to pick from.
