Do I weep,
     with tears shed
for lives to be
   incomplete?

Though I find cowardice
     in lack of loyalty
at this time of war,
          not during peace,

do I weep,
  and, so too,
do I find horror

in the thought of
more shed blood

~ours and theirs~?

Or, did you think
  I weep less,
it be they and not us?

And, for what?

    To keep our earth whole
for another lifespan

for

     ~Everyman~.

Do I weep,
   a wretched ache
for

     ~Everychild~

of every color
of every race?

My tears spill down my face
for those who won't get
to walk and talk freely
to forge forward
and be the most
his intellect affords.

And, do I weep
at the thought of their
beds and hearts and minds
blown to smithereens?

And, yet do I weep
deepest
for the collective intellect
who have no God
to lead them
nor, the bend of knee
to even ask, or pray?

Do I weep that
funded madmen
control tens of thousands
turn them into
willing suicides
~human killing machines~
who run together
in silent pact with
some countries secretly
indorsing the
death of America?

Do I weep
they haunt and wreck
terror in
thought and deed
of
all of us,
eventually,
all of the world,
~not just us~?

Do I weep for those
especially with
purity of heart
who pretend
there is a better
way to fight
men with no conscious

that it can't happen

to our country?

Do I weep
for them who stand
unknowingly
terrified,
numb and frozen
in denial and dismay
a placid stance
taken?

Do I weep
heartbroken sobs
lump in throat,
chin quivering,
sniffing in sorrow
hot tears of grief
for a beautiful world
gone bad,
and for all of
God's children
no matter their hue.

~YES, I WEEP~

Ron and Ethel,

Thanks to you both for replying.
Yes, I know we all do or will weep, even those looking for an easier, softer way, for them I weep the most.
That it could be so.

Hugs to you both, Thanks.

Eric,

I almost missed your reply. Thank you very much for reading and responding.
and the beautiful.

Hugs, Pat

There is no way to explain the pain of war...so far reaching and all encompassing.
Well done my friend. ThisDiamond

Bill,

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply. Yes, it is so very bad the state of the world is in. That there were a simple solution.

Kathleen,

Thank you, my friend, for reading and replying. And for the well done.

Connell,

Can't figure out what the face is...on my screen looks like a character with a point coming out his head. Regardless, I am glad you took the time to read and reply. Thanks.

Janet Marie,

All you said is true. Thanks for the well done and comments. It means a lot when you reply to one of my poems.

Hugs to you all, Pat

Lost in thought

I think so many people think that if a person isn't out with a sign in protest to war that they must not realise that lives end, or that little girls daddys will never come back. Or they think if a person does realise that, it is even more hideous of them to not be out with signs of protest.
..but what they don't see is how ~everyone's~ life will be ended and taken if it doesn't happen. And that we do weep, understand, and feel for those who are so devistatingly killed ..all in hopes of a better life, for the people of this land.
I think you explained well how we who don't stand against the war still weep. Well done.
Hugs and Love

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Patricia, this is so very heartbreaking, sweet friend, and what else makes me weep as even with these fears all surrounding us how our leaders choose revenge as a prime motive and how that only kills so many more children who believe and when we collide we are all goners! (wipes tears) I too weep with you, dearest friend! (hugs you and weeps over your shoulder) God Bless You, sweet friend, my prayers are with all the children, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thankn you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!'

Love,

James,

I missed your reply earlier, I think.
Thanks so much.

Alyssa,

Yes, that is it exactly. We do weep.
I've no doubt the horror which many will go through. I weep for the world.
Thanks you for your sensitive reply and your understanding of my stand on this problem. You are wise beyond your years, and a joy to get to know.

Hugs and love,  Pat

Noah,

As highly intelligent as you are you blow my mind by thinking our leaders are out for revenge.  PLEASE check out Phil. 101, a thread by Denise and read all included threads.

If you honestly think this, YOU break my heart and I weep hardest for you.

I love and care about you Noah.
Shlee, (sp) sorry....I missed your reply while I was answering Noah.
Glad you had a chance to read and reply. It is much to think about.
Thank you for taking the time to answer.

Hugs, Pat

hi Pat,

firstly, thanks for writing your heart out in my threads and secondly, i'm so glad that you decided to stay and continue to post.

i read this piece twice and feel that for me to leave a generic reply would be to do this injustice since there is so many conflicting emotions worthy of further discussion here...i actually planned to write you an email earlier on but didn't do so due to lack of time...heck, i'll say here that i will write you an email..so that i will get around to doing it..

i'm sorry that you are feeling so much and will be keeping you in my thoughts
