There's nothing better than a 4 AM hot chocolate.
I wake Pete up, ask him his choice.
"No, thanks," he grins through his cotton mouthed exterior.
"You sure?" I breath, the saliva clinging to my gums.
"Yeah." Positive, he rolls over.
Sheri would want one.
Jason too.
I wonder if Kym would?
or Nicole?
I bet Val would, only if it was really sweet
with fluff on top. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Who ever said there was anything wrong with being a kid again.
Drinking hot chocolate at 4 AM, just like Mom used to make.
This is my childhood, twenty-two years later,
Standing in the kitchen drinking hot chocolate.
Alone.
Perfectly content.

On average, a person's blood sugar level is at it's lowest at 4 a.m.---so the hot chocolate would feed those sweet-starved cells in a most delightful way! And the caffeine effect of the cocoa would be off-set by the hot milk which is full of sleep-inducing amino acids!--so it's a win-win situation! Then you can go back to bed and have "sweet" dreams! tehe

May I join you the next time?

Warm hugs,
EA

Enjoyed

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.
