suspend the dream,
hint of morning
filters through
bare windows,
shutting out
february winds,

unwillingly,
transported back
to the cruelty
of daybreak,
though not yet
in clear sense
of self,
i plead
for more time,
more minutes
to float along
cloud cushions,
in weightless flight,
to be swept away again
in midnights desires,

i offer my voice
to the wind gods,
to strenghten
their continuance
of winter's plight,
as barter
for more time,
to savor this dream,
silence vowed
until springttime,

not hearing my pleas,
sadness comes,
the winds
diminishing
to merely a sigh,
as i awaken
without you,
to the starkness
of sunlight

( FIND THE VOICE INSIDE OF YOU! ) lol... Good poem.. Enjoyed the read.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Have you heard the echo returned, the winds always whisper to God?
Loved your expressions of the truest agony in love. Hugs to you. ThisDiamond

Very nice writing and makes for a long lonely night....I know that well. Good thing is maybe, just maybe your voice will be heard and you will get more time, much more time. As always, or at least MOST of the time, I enjoy what you write. Dont stop!

What is it about that nether world between sleep and wakefulness that takes our thoughts in so many directions, and so often in search of someone missing from our life.  This is a well told story.  Ken

Michele,

I think this is one of my favorites of yours. Very well balanced in thought and flows nicely and is quite deep in meaning. I liked the ending.

Hugs, Pat
