Inside the shadow's shadow

0 posted 2003-02-16 04:53 AM

The moonlight lays a river of light
Upon the crystalized snow.
The scene is refreshing,
Beautifully unique.
For who can resist a stop
To gaze upon Nature
When she works her charm at best,
Wedged within the few hours
Where mankind gives destruction a rest.

It's times like these
That bring back your spirit,
Your hands back into my hair.
Your smell envelopes me
And it seems to run through my veins.
Your eyes are all I see.

Standing in front of the window,
Gazing dreamily down below
At the perfect, unhatched chance
To chase you through the snow.

Tearing outside in only my gown
I splash into the snow
And bathe with you in the stream of light
Beneath the web of stars.

I turn to you...

Turning where?
To who and who was there?
Your face fades away
Like the Chesire Cat,
Waxing and waning, it sways.

Your ghost still comes to see me,
Though haunt is a horrid word.
Leading me to wonderful things,
Playfully absurd.

Is it possible to fall in love
With a ghost, could that be right?
Yet there's no mistake,
Strangely enough,
I love your ghost with might.

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

poem of romance. It is really pretty......and yes,
I am one of the "hopeless romantics" here at PIP.......lol

Another awesome poem exhibited here.
