Inside the shadow's shadow

Yes, yet again another old poem. I am feeling poetic but the mood hasn't struck me yet to write anything. So I will share this peice from my little collection.

"Night"

As the wind blows,
And the owl knows;
As the stars light,
And the fires burn bright;
As that spark in your eye
Shivers and blinks,
The old, lazy panther
Yawns and then winks.
As the grass dew shines,
And the flowers bloom;
As the clear water ripples,
And reflects the moon;
As the animals call,
And celebrate;
As Life on Earth
Is trully jubilant:
You wallow in your sea of dreams
And will never know of these nightly scenes.

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.
