Inside the shadow's shadow

0 posted 2003-02-15 09:30 PM

Floating in this starlit sky,
Past the moon
That's hung so high
I wipe a tear
Back from my face
And it falls to earth
Without a trace

The bright red Sun
Laughs a hearty laugh
As he cradles my heart
In his arms.
He says my heart he surely can mend
And revive its sparkles and charms,

And the Moon coos a word of comfort
As she holds my mind in her hands
She tells me this
Also may be fixed
If there's one thing that I understand--

The Sun will breathe his mighty warm air
Upon my heart to kill
The frost that lay upon my heart
And made my emotions stilled.

And as agreed the Moon will give
My mind some soothing words
And ease it into
A much needed sleep
Wrapped in a blanket of fur.

But as for my soul
They cannot help
Its locked within
And you could never tell
That its been burned
And sliced apart
And torn and ripped
With each new start.

So with a clear mind
And a mended heart
I again walk the path
I had at start
But deep inside I hear her call
So faint, So light
Maybe not there at all.
But the pain it holds
Grabs my attention,
I stop and sigh
But must keep her in detention.

And on again
I travel the road
Of winds and storms
And bumps to erode

And with a glint in my eye
And a tear in my soul
I head back to earth,
My stories untold.

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Thank you both.
And don't worry, poetry is my passion, I don't intend to stop anytime soon
