Between Storms

In the hush of afternoon, bare limbs stretch,
buds beg to open crimson-ivory petals.
Light bleeds through charcoal velvet clouds.

Variegated veins sway in breezy byways
and dance between strands of daffodils -
lush bands bending.

Moss-covered stairwell offers ephemeral spring.
Enfold it at once, before frigid winds return
to wrap us in sheets of rain.

Wow, great job! The ending makes me sad, though...But it also encourages me to make the most of today! Great read, much enjoyed!

You know.. this kind of made me think about how all of our lives are here with the war on terrorism and the situation in Iraq. It seems that we are caught in a storm, with lulls inbetween. Yes, we should love and cherish each other before the next blast comes...

Thank you Kok, Lovebug, Sey, and Garysgirl, Passing Shadows and Kethry!

Captain Ron, good to see your words again, too. Life has been keeping me way too busy. Not much spare writing time. Hoping to change that soon. And thank you!

(big hugggssssss) Oh Corinne, this is sad but true, sweet friend, we seem to be crawling between storms and I only pray we can break free and find our place in the sun all across the world! (sad sigh) This is very heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corinne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Sweet Noah, thank you!

Aenimal - thank you!

Thank you kindly, Martie.

Thanks, this Diamond!

Capitan - I am honored (bows) that you have read this more than once! Title idea came from watching the weather. The poem spilled out quite differently from what I pictured, but that's okay. Came out more universal and less self-focused. Also came out slightly sensual (at least, I hope!).

Corinne sweet poet,

Wonderfully discriptive of the moment. It has to go in the book.

So is it common to be stretching bare outside between the storms in your part of the country or is that an Irish thing...
