When fear may take its icy grip upon my heart
To rattle from me sounds of faltered frail sobs
Instinctively my hands seek out that soothing part
That ever comes to cross away what worry robs

Never hesitated to be warm, this hand to cup my cheek
Or shake me free of what has weighed my wings
Elusive flutters on the surface of a grand physique
That ever comes with fizz and frolics softly clings

Perhaps to hold me on a journey beckoning by smile
But all I know is something thoroughly a priceless saving grace
Following by fingertip through daily ebbing trial
That ever comes your hands to hold my heart serene in place

Perhaps you hear my breath sincere into the grail cup
Instinctively my hands seek out that sweetest part of you
A fill of voids that may not have the courage to give up
That ever comes to love me in the simplest way you do

hands are wonderful, aren't they?

this reached out and touched me
the last line was brilliant

A very handy poem, it reached me in a deep and meaningful way.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Don't know how I missed this before,
Kathleen. This is really beautiful, as is all your work.

Kathleen,

The second and third stanzas, my favorites... this is precious!
