Island in Paradise

Do I not seek
More than there is
In each hour
Asking for the beauty of blossoms
From the buds on trees
Not content with a gentle breeze
Passing through the tender leaves?

Can I not stop
The mental quakes
Of this, my heart,that quietly aches
For that island far from shore
Visualizing its beauty
Knowing there is more.
Far more to adore?

I want to free the dove
Not make it disappear
Pull the rabbit from the hat
Create my own magic
From thin air
With love as my wand
Discarding my blanket of fear

How do we play our heart?
When it wants to sing
What notes can I strum?
What strings can I fret?
With nothing left to regret
To let the world listen
To my symphony of wings

Lover, let me touch
For I can give much
As a flower can bloom
I have empty rooms
Needing warm heart as chair
Passion for stairs
Warm bed to share
