“TO SEE A WITCH”
by

Once I had the chance to see a witch,
she of mystery of the cypress swamp,
comes and goes with words of magic,
dances in moonbeams, skips with a romp…

Behind a tree one night I once did hide,
to see things of things I didn’t believe,
for that night she stood and pointed up,
and it happened yet I couldn’t conceive…

Words flowed from fingers in moonlight,
taking shape before startled eyes of mine,
poetry in motion was written before me,
from the swamp witch out of the brine…

Bill, I really enjoyed this one, but easy on the witches, ok? I was born on Halloween!! Seriously though, it painted yet another story in my mind as I read, and that is the essence of good writing...

Sunnyone mentioned painting a picture, that you did so well. Loved the poem!

"Words flowed from fingers in moonlight,
taking shape before startled eyes of mine" . . . cool!  this is strong imagery!
