Do you have RealPlayer? Are the sound files saved on your computer?

if I'm not mistaken (which is quite possible since I'm too lazy to walk out into the hall to get my HTML book) the code is as follows:

<bgsound src="http://www.site.com/where/fileis/filename.wav>

Is one way - if you're talking about a personal page, you can also embed certain media players... though you're gambling there as cross-browser functionality is shaky and a lot of users don't like sound files being forced on them. *raising hand* I like it better when I'm presented the option!

'Course I have NO idea what you want it for, so I'll leave off with my moral dillemnas over sound and the Internet.

*bows*

Oh, and I think Netscape might require the wav file to be embedded in order to work as a stand alone...*shrug*

Linc~
Your code had a space between the =sign and the quotation mark"
It should appear like this-
<bgsound src ="http://members.aol.com/mamabirdsuzanne/HymnHope.wav">

Midi files load fairly quickly and wav's take a little longer.

You can always PREVIEW your post to hear the music before you actually SUBMIT it.
I advise that - because if you don't hear it in PREVIEW mode ... it isn't going to be heard after it's posted.

Make certain you give it time to load.
Good luck !

i feel obligated to point out one minor quirk of Ron's software here, though.
Marge is right, with one exception.
for some reason, the preview routine in the forum software cuts off a post if there's a semicolon in it, maybe with some other punctuation too, but definitely with semicolons - and refuses to load anything past the semicolon in the post.
thus, to test your sound file, make absolutely the bgsound tag occurs either first in your post, or before any occurrence of a semicolon, or it won't load even if you did it right.

yeah dave - we encountered that one a while back... lol - it's due to the preview option being a function of JavaScript, which, as you probably know, uses semi-colons as an 'end' command.

my suggestion in cases like this is to copy your stuff into a text document and save is as an html file. then open it and you'll see/hear how it should sound.
