The more I give attention
the more I come to the conclusion
that Obama sees himself as an
avenging angel

You mean trying to do all the things Bush should have done but didn't, and trying to undo all the things Bush did but shouldn't have done?

ARH,

Ah, the Great Satan.  Where have we heard that before? :-)

Mike,

Good to see you posting again. As infuriating as I find your comments, I missed you.

John,

Um, what specifically is moving you in that direction?  The three targets in the second term:

1. Gun safety (or control -- it's a semantic thing).

2. Immigration reform

3. Jobs/debt issue

I'm not being facetious here; I don't understand where this feeling comes from.  I think I might understand better if you could tell me what aspects you find repulsive: style of substance?

I just checked the date and realized that you posted this a while back.

Is this still relevant?

I don't think so.   But what matters more is probably what the people see the president as, and that is a president worth voting for. It is unfortunate that the law forbids you to vote him in a third time.  If it weren't against the law, is there any doubt that Obama would be voted in again?

To my mind
Obama presides as if just from a liberal classroom
from which the purpose of his leadership is to make amends
for the wrongs of white America; white regardless of origins
though they came as my parents very long after the Civil War and
from Hells of persecution he and his couldn’t possibly imagine.
In doing so he burdens black Americans with excuses while immigrants
from other worlds like that of Asia come persevere and then prosper
beyond their parent’s wildest dreams

John,

I don't see it. We can certainly disagree on certain policies but I don't think those policies are in any way necessarily designed to take power away from white people.

Unless you see a zero-sum power game. I don't.

Look, immigration is a necessary positive for the USA.  The more people move there the more taxes are going to be paid, the more we can survive the Boomer problem (too many people were born in that generation).

I think there's a difference between countries like Korea and the more important country China.  Until the singularity comes (more on that later), America is still in the best position to succeed.

But don't pull a Ming dynasty move.

No, too many survived chidhood . . .
(thank you modern medicine).

Do any other Boomers remember as children long lines of us
waiting for shots?

That's an excellent point.

Things are changing and that's moving us closer to the singularity.
