Internet Explorer. I think I fixed it just now. I changed it from the setting of Medium, where it was, to Low (accept ALL cookies) and now at least I can get into facebook again. Let me see now if I am working okay here.
You shouldn’t be setting anything to ‘low’ Denise.
In the browser go to HELP on the toolbar at the top and click ABOUT.
That’ll show you the version of IE you’re running.
If it’s IE7 click OK then, once back in the browser, go to TOOLS then INTERNET OPTIONS and select the SECURITY tab - click the button that says DEFAULT LEVEL. Then click the tab that says PRIVACY and click the button that’s marked DEFAULT. Click APPLY and then OK then close the browser and re-open it.
If you’re not running IE7 the above instructions may be different – let me know how you get on.
The football has just kicked off so I'll check back in 90 minutes or so.
I have IE8, but was able to follow the same directions as for IE7. Both defaulted to Medium-High. Now I can't get into facebook again.
Ooops, Security defaulted to Medium-High and Privacy defaulted to Medium. I think my cookies are messed up here again too. I just had to manually enter my username and password when I came in here to edit.
Okay, I left my Security at Medium-High and changed my Privacy back down to Accept ALL cookies, and now I can get back into facebook and things are working here again. Is there something else that maybe I should try instead?
What's the score now?
The only concern I had about cookies was that I didn't want the government placing cookies on my computer...Big Brother and all that. But I don't, as a rule, visit the Fox website anyway. It takes too long to load for me, and I don't particularly care for the layout.
What did you think Big Brother might do to you, steal your identity, max out your credit cards, switch your voting registration to Dem? But then again, Handmaid's tale and all that. So glad Bush never read that book along with the Camus and the "three Shakespeares".
