The United Nations has elected Iran to the Commission on the Status of Women for a four year term.

The mission of the Commission is to promote gender equality throughout the world.

The election was by acclamation which means the U.S. acquiesced in the election not even requiring a vote.

Why does this not surprise me?

On the up side, they will require all cleavages to be covered, thus no more earthquakes. Saving lives, one cleavage at a time...
