100.00 CAD = 84.9870 USD

Do you think that is doing something to my ebay shopping?  Then there is increased shipping payable in US funds.  Sheesh, what's a girl to do?  There goes all my Don Hardy, my great white cotton shirts, and let's nto forget the great shoes I love from the States.  Sure, laugh Michael, but that means I can't visit down there either at that rate of exchange.  Oh pooh!  Bail-out isn't working up here that is for sure.

Hi Mysteria.  Could be worse. One US dollar = about 63 US cents.

I feel SOOO ahead of the curve, having done most of my shopping at either Goodwill or the St. Matthew's Thrift Shop for years now, so come on down!

Last year I picked up a Ralph Lauren camel's hair overcoat, made, I think, from the hair of a real camel, for US $6.00, which equates roughly to $6.95 Canadian.  Try finding THAT on eBay!

Plus, if you wear it, you don't have to declare it, so the Canada customs guys won't slap you with the dreaded VAT.  Or at least you can get by with it.  If questioned, I'd claim it was a family heirloom and try to avoid discussing whose family.

Oh, and if you happen to score a pair of Prada's on eBay, have the seller ship them as a gift worth $10.00.  No VAT.  And if some bored customs employee actually opens the box, what are they going to find?  A pair of used shoes, right?

I used to sell on eBay all the time until prices dropped below garage sale levels for perfectly good garage sale items, and folks began complaining when I charged actual shipping costs for actually shipping things.

Hmmmmpf!

I love thrift stores, they are the ultimate.  Some of the best things in my closet are from Value Village, or the Sally Anne   Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, and I love shopping especially if I can watch t.v. at the same time.  I guess I am getting lazy in my old age.

that means I need to visit Canada again soon.

just got back from Germany and the Euro ate my dollar and still wanted .58 more cents.

felt really really short in me pockets.

I can sympathize.
