Whether it’s Obama or Clinton, (both of whom said
they would pull out of Iraq), the Democrats are expected
to have a tough race against McCain.

Tet in 1968 was a military disaster for the NVA and VC
with the loss of some 45,000 casualties, (this estimate is from
Victor Hanson’s  Carnage and Culture), and yet was a political
victory ultimately leading to their winning the war.  Why shouldn’t
Al Qaeda attempt a similar campaign in Iraq shortly before
the American Presidential elections in November?  It wouldn’t
take tens of thousands of  troops; rockets, and a hundred or so suicide
bombers around that country could do.
