Both were very close, since childhood, friends of my children.

Is it just me or has the world gone mad?

Susan, there has been just far too much unrest in the South for people to take I think.  If anger is there and not treated, it festers, and the bubble just gets bigger and bigger, until it bursts, you know?

I am SO sorry and send my condolences to the victim's family.  To lose a life is one thing, but to lose such a young one, is such an utter shock.  We are loosing just far too many of our future generation due to a undefined madness.

I agree this world has gone mad...it seems that love and compassion are more and more a thing we don't have time for and this (I believe) creates fertile for madness to grow in...My heartfelt sympathy to those close to these young people...

Married at 16? Why can't children just be children anymore?

To those that voiced concern over Chelsea being married so young...there is a long, sad story to it.  Her mother thought it was the right thing.  As for where were her parents?  Chelsea's Mom is a wonderful person and is a second Mom to my daughter.  Even though she had lost her only child that day, she called to make sure my child was okay.

And as for Matt? The 21 yr old boy that was killed?  His biological father had nothing to do with him and his Mother had died several years ago.  Matt had close to no family.  The group of friends that grew up in that subdivision, my children included, were his family.

We are all still in tears and shock.  Praying to any and all higher powers to catch who did this.

And, God help me, I am profoundly thankful that my son didn't go over there at 11 pm when Matt called and asked him to. The time of death for Matt and Chelsea was approx. 12:30 am.

Thank you all for your concern and comfort.

I just want the madness to stop.  With each and every death, we all lose.  The world becomes a little less tolerable place to be.
