I can't hop into the shower without a release form that the hot water streaming on my head won't bust a vein in my aching head--I walk down the street and I won't say that I am nervous, but I am, incredibly aware. I am FOR stem cell research because I yearn for eyes in the back of my head. Oh John...this reminds me of that Seinfield joke, which is more scary than funny-- "here we are pummeling through space on a speck of dust, held in place by "sciences" of gravities, propelled by satellites and complexities, never knowing, from one day to the next if the sun will implode or explode--and what do we do, when we are faced with scientific fact? WE BUY MORE INSURANCE." I paraphrased. It's scarier and made more sense my way.  and fox news? sorry to all my brethrenfolk, but it just makes me wanna swish me tail. (very um, eraser like, eh?) |

High school seniors are already signed up to go into the army as soon as they graduate from high school this coming summer. Forty thousand dollars and an education brings them to their knees. martyjo |

Yes, and many of the new young recruits into the military are being told, (and actually believe) that "there are no front lines in Iraq". Perhaps there is meaning within that term that does not apply to Iraq in some military way, but in my mind, if there's a chance of rain, bring an umbrella, if there's a chance of going to Iraq, bring your brain, Kevlar, and whatever else will protect you in a war, whether one on one, driving down a road, or within a firing line. I have a 21 year old son, and I've been a daughter and wife of military men, Navy and Army, for 24 years. I've learned their lingo, but that one threw me and infuriated me with regards to my son (thinking of following in Daddy's footsteps) and all the others presently in Iraq. |
