This just confirms what I already suspected.

Although discouraging this really makes it all the more important to attempt to engage people, particularly the young, in critical thinking.

How do you think Schwarzenegger won?

Besides, this is just common sense - and you can substitute "Democrats and Republicans" with "People."

Imagery says a lot for the brain.

Case in point:  Current local trial introduced photos and factual data upon a screen which visually pointed out fact, scenario, dates, incidents to explain the "timeline" of lines once drawn to show who did what, when, where, and how.

The jury came back in two hours.  Defendant clearly at fault.  Plaintiff awarded ZIP [read huge goose egg] in compensation for what the jury could clearly READ on records, screened for their convenience.

We have taken more than two senses into the arena.

So, just when we think a mind's made up...we have to question, just what has that mind heard, think they've heard, and then eyed?

Aye?

Aye.

Yea!

Here's to confusion!

The big surprise is that someone actually paid for this study... If they would have paid me 1/3 of what it was they paid to have this done, I could have told them the exact same thing, saved them a few bucks, made me a few bucks, and everyone goes to sleep happy.

Too many people are sleep walking through life.I can not get up an intelligent conversation with many people. And to be honest I am not a deep thinker. I just like to start something so I can listen, and hopefully learn something. But too few offer anything to chew on. So I find things to study on the computer.I guess most of us never learned how to make decisions.JMO martyjo

Certainly we don't need CAT or PET scans of the brain to watch the effects of this -- but it is rather interesting to observe the process in action and that the brain actually rewards this kind of thought process.

It's understandable why this trait was selected.  We are a cooperative species and loyalty is important to survival.  But, our society has developed to a point beyond which the trait is completely necessary or even beneficial.  In fact... it can be downright harmful -- just like overeating.

But, I think that what this illustrates is that we need to change a little bit of the thought processes that we hold about this behaviour and what results in the form of Jingoism or Nationalism -- it's as addictive as eating chocolate or having sex.

They didn't need to take a survey. They could have simply read the Alley for the past couple of years!

Apparently not, icebox.  I mean, he can do wonderful and apparently god-like things, like calling from the Swiss Alps to put everything in limbo....

In other news, there were no reported injuries in a thread derailment today in the alley.
