“OSLO, Norway Jan 22, 2005 — President Bush's "Hook 'em, 'horns" salute got lost in translation in Norway, where shocked people interpreted his hand gesture during his inauguration as a salute to Satan. “

LOL, I find that incredibly funny. Gestures can speak louder than words. Hmmm...another message in there perhaps?

Wait ‘til he uses the University of Texas
“We’re Number One” gesture at the UN.

I'd rather not talk about this.

I'm critical on Bush over a number of things, but I find it sad a simple hand gesture is being a central focus of discussion, and I certainly believe he was not gesturing Satan.

To be honest, I'm equally bothered by the tone and title of this thread, so I'm commenting no further here.

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

Hmmm, I guess the idea that the swastika is alive in well in Japan and Korea is above your head.

Hint: direction

Brad,

Check reference
and context; it helps

P.S. The Empress Alexanadra’s private room
was festooned with swastikas, which however brought the
Romanovs no luck.

Yeah, it would. You completely missed the point (again).

During the Winter Olympics in Nagano, many Americans complained about swastikas on temples and so forth.

They are usually placed over gates so they are literally over your head.

*I first said Nagoya. My memory just keeps going, and going, and going . . .

Cute, huh?

Brad,

I knew nothing of the Winter Olympics in Nagano,
so it's hardly surprising I would miss your specific
reference.  I am however familiar with the swastika's
pre-Nazi symbolism, (the symbol remains common in India),
as are others, so the critical point was at least approached.

But if it makes you feel better . . .

P.S.  When are you, as I have asked, going to give us
your insight into the regime just North and within
artillery range of Seoul?
