Seeing how the majority of forces in the UN Peacekeepers are American, odds are they'll be sent wherever the UN decides. When there are successes, it's the UN. When there's failure, it's the US. Funny, eh?
If I support the UN, then I would support their actions. The converse is true as well. Based on the UN's track record over the past 10 years, I'm personally leaning towards non-support. Incompetency in the upper castes can and will erode my support for anything that multinational police force does. Keep in mind that the Korean War was initially a UN Police Action.
On a side note, I don't see why the UN should involve themselves at all, since there aren't that many member countries from Africa. There is, however, an African Council made up of most of the African countries, and they have a combined military presense. They are the ones doing most of the work in Sudan.
