Dear Friends:

I have studied what I could of the history and thoughts of Osama bin Laden, and continue to do so, and have come to the conclusion that he is much more complicated than a simple phrase like "evil doer" describes. His pre election speech has prompted me to write this speech novella...

Having no real way to get at what is in Osama's mind , I conjecture here what might be his thoughts in a speech tableau, sent out to the world. A sort of press conference/update on his old held thoughts and new...This is meant to be sarcastic as well as satirical, both of which always contain grains of truth...

This in no way condones his actions, that are, as they should be, considered despicable by the civilized world... but being a liberal allows me free passage into the dark areas of his mind through scenario...below is what might be the rant of a intelligent, madman... a most dangerous combination

Enter Osama, in front of microphones,
Addressing the election
All praise be to Allah ...

I am a guerilla fighter, I lack much in the way of sophisticated weapons and supplies that I once had, but my religious guide has ordered me to continue this jihad, so I am doing so, to the best of my ability...

The invasion of Iraq was a good thing for me, the leader of the infidels has made it more easy for myself, and others of like mind to kill them..Praise Allah..He has concentrated over 100,000 of his best men in a country with unguarded borders , that is easy to enter and exit with small arms and explosives. He has made them easy targets for the limited militia I and others have sent there..Now I do not have to make complicated plans to kill more Americans. Entering their mother country the first time was extremely dangerous...Praise Allah for him and his friends that participated in the invasion and present occupation.

All praise be to Allah...

Who tells me to kill anyone who lives in Iraq, that has sided with the  invaders, so I am doing this along side of native insurgents, and other foreign fighters. Unfortunately innocent people must also be killed as part of the plan to win this war...Each death is a  powerful weapon, and as I have said, I must use all tactics available...This must be done to show civilians that they must not side with the invaders....may Allah consider them martyrs and accept them into heaven as such....

I take this action because my religion dictates I do so, as has been done throughout  history by the likes of me. I must use all weapons available to fight my enemies...The infidels have forced me to do so, as well as the insurgents, they and I will carry on this plan until dead or captured..I assure you that this will continue, someone else will carry on our vision, should and when that happens...

The few I send does not deplete my army, we will strike in like kind wherever in the world that infidels gather to steal and plunder right thinking Muslim resources...

I am glad the west does not try to understand me because I do not really understand myself, I run on the invisible fuel called faith, which is seemingly prevalent in the world that exists both outside and inside my extremist thought..

By the way, I am glad Saddam is out of the picture, as the extremists Muslim world knows, I hated his secular ways. It was an insult to my relgion when the Americans tried to tie us together. With him out of the picture  my chance to convince the population of Iraq (by violence if need be) to repent, is much better... Allah again be praised...I thank him for the favor...

I am Osama bin Laden, all praise be to Allah....

Allah forbade any to marry any of the Prophet’s  wives after the Prophet was dead.
Praise Allah.  Keep your paws off mine!

It's those grains of truth you have to seek in any politician's or madman's rhetoric.
I'm not sure his motives are all centered on his interpretation of the Koran though. He himself seems to fight with a secular bent, while enlisting those who are more fanatically religious. It's true what you say, it is difficult to second guess people like Osama and Zaqwari. But considering what they've already done, they will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. It's a dangerous world we live in, and my personal view is, our socio-political stance in it has made matters worse.
An interesting attempt, Ford, to get into the head of an intelligent fanatic. Need a giant aspirin today?
