Yesterday morning, I head out to my car for work,,, and don't you know, I notice a big gaping hole in my passenger side window. And THEN, I notice the big gaping hole where the CD player was in my dash. They also stole a bucnh of CDs- about 25 of my favorite CDs in fact- and (get this) a bag full of bottlerockets and firecrackers (lol).

The only thing I'm thankful about is that my very nice (and very pricey) camera was stowed away in the trunk, and they hadn't thought to look there.

It just infuriates me that people are so disgustingly selfish and inconsiderate.... "Well, we're going to severely ruin somebody's dy and they're going to be out a bunch of money... but as long as we can sell this crap for half of what it's worth, we can make a profit!"

My mom asked me if I learned a lesson from all of this... and my response was "What lesson? Don't have nice stuff because someone's just going to steal it?" She said "No, just don't keep it in your car."

Good advice. Not keeping a car stereo in your car. I'll just have to learn to live with the radio, I guess.

What about one of those that the face plate comes off? At least they won't know exactly what's in there and even if stolen, it won't work without that plate.

Bummer. My condolences. Seriously. I know how frustrating that can be; several months ago, I walked outside to my Jeep and found the window sliced open. They took my stereo (sans faceplate, small comfort), about as many of my CD's, and my really cool amp (along with miscellaneous items such as loose change and a pen... they took a pen?).

For me, the upset was more in knowing that they'd gotten away with it and could be walking past me without me knowing they're the ones I want to beat the spit out of.

So I went and bought a new Jeep... lol, a Grand Cherokee with an alarm. I sure showed them!

Pete... I did have one with the faceplate- my bad, I forgot and left it on, which I had been trying to be diligent about, since a week prior, another of my friends had her car broken into...

I have an Alpine with a face plate...I always take it off, no matter if I'm at home or out... and I have a blanket in my back seat to stash my CD case under.

It's a sad lesson...even sadder that people are such scum-buckets to even think of doing something like that

nodding here with hugs for hush...

you're rightfully angry my friend--you were violated.

Keep in mind, though, that the things can be replaced. (and smiling a bit here, I do hope the CDS were copies--since the advent of the cd burner, most folks I know make copies for use in their cars)

I'm sorry this happened to you--about six months ago, someone robbed our home through a bedroom window. It is infuriating and makes you feel never quite safe again.

(As if we don't have enough to worry about, huh?)

sighs and one more hug

I know what it's like. They stole all my fishing gear on Eastern afternoon, while my hubby was at home.
It always makes me so mad that some people don't have the courtesy not to touch what's not theirs.

I know, sometimes the world is rotten.

4 words..

electrically charged door handles..

zaaaaap..if only..sighs sorry it happened.

The removable face plate is the way to go nowadays. and keep cds in a binder beneath the seat or in the trunk if you have cd changer back there.

Yanno hush, nothing makes me madder than a thief....I understand your ranting...I don't want to think about what I'd do if I caught someone stealing from me...
