I had insurance till my divorce.  after many months I was very lucky to be qualified for the Adult basic program.  (not sure if that is just a Pennsylvania thing though)The money for this program came from a lawsuit, which the goverment funded for health insurance for anyone who made under 17,000 a year and was without health insurance.

The perscription plan is not the best but the coverage is pretty good, and I pay about 30 dollars a month.  I feel very lucky, it has been a hard road trying to get health coverage.
