Actually this announcement has absolutely nothing to do with "research."
This public event, with a real wheelchair as a prop, was staged to demonstrate how very much the Great White Father cares about the disabled.  Like He cares for the lives of babies born of botched abortions.

Friendship is for Life, if not Forever.
