Have no fear, gentle mortals. Upon receiving the mantle of authority from the Passionate Guru and Administrator, I vowed to be the benevolent dictator. Yes, this area is still for wanton screaming, ranting, arguing, pessimism, and general disagreements. Any who have read Nan's very pertinent question will know the true of this.  On to other things. While I have nothing against profanity in general, specific usages sometimes gets my Capricorn goat. By this I mean blatant phrases or idiomatic expressions who's sole purpose is to put down, insult, or malign someone else. If that is what you are looking for, find a bathroom wall and scribble away. Now, if there is a post which contains profanity that no one is upset about, no problem. If a few are upset about it, I will confer with my peers and make a decision. If many are upset with what was written, it will be removed in all due haste. So let's just have fun, and remember, that during a tongue-lashing, always keep a tongue in cheek. I don't like slurs on people... some words are better left in a person's mouth or in this case, keep them from reaching the tips of your typing fingers...I'm glad you'll be patrolling the Alley-Cat.... |

No, Haskins, I am not out to create conformity within the bounds of the Ministry of Propaganda, nor the Ministry of Love. All I ask for, and I hope I speak for other (if not, let me know), is a little discretion in word/phrase selection. Remember that not all who log into this forum are worldly-wise savants who are not bothered by banal trivialities of unorthodox descriptive venacular idiomatic expressions.
