Saturday Morning Me

It's just me...
sitting in the dark
surrounded by you-thoughts
on a Saturday morning.
I wonder if you know
the affection I hold
and the effection of caring
that can turn my world
upside down or rightside up.

You say I should please myself,
feel my own worth,
strengthen my resolve,
and motivate from within.

Today I am on the upside,
eight hours of internal peace.
A smile replacing the frown of despair.
Even if only for today,
I will meditate its wonder,
rejoice in its calmness
and throw a kiss to the one
who mirrors me.

I won't rest until the some day comes
when I can thank you
for reaching into my heart,
gifting me with loving thoughts
that repair the injure, soothe the aches,
charm my fears and lend me a togetherness,
remaining a friend
in sunshine and shade.

Perhaps tonight, I will travel once again
in dreams of you, and though my voice
is silent still,
my whispered thoughts
may be heard across the miles
to enter yours...to share the times past,
walking hand in hand, the touch of yours
upon my shoulder, my short to your tall,
and on the edge of it all,
I will see your eyes, blue as they are,
matching the sky as I look up
and lead you with my smile.
~M~

What is so perfect about this piece, is that it might fit any friend...and that is what makes it universal...
