You and I are so very different
Not always have we agreed
But your selflessness doesn't go unnoticed
And you are always there if I'm in need

So many times I've tried to tell you
How it is that I really feel
Both our lives are forever changing
And sometimes life feels so surreal

Spoken words don't always come easy
So I'll write my feelings instead
And I hope that by the time I've finished
You will like what you have read

There was the time I battled depression
And you were never far from my side
My life was so very confusing then
It was with you that I needed to hide

The tragic loss of my father
Saw me retreat within myself
All alone I battled my demons
Sometimes feeling I was beyond help

I had never felt so lonely
Even though I knew how much you cared
Along with Dad went a very big part of me
My guiding light was no longer there

But to you I will always be indebted
For all the things you have done for me
I just wanted to say 'I love you'
And show how much you really mean to me

* * *

I wrote this for my mother, Shirley
who has helped me through some very
difficult times in my life

(BIG HUGGGSSSSSSS) Oh my gosh, now I'm flodding in tears, you truly are no doubt an angel to us all as you are to your mother always! (sigh) I know how you feel for when I was a little boy I was always depressed every day and my mother was the only one who ever believe din me and for that I am thankful I had someone to believe in me and love me! (kiss on cheek) Your mom will always love you so much as you love her, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This is a beautiful poem for your mother, I love when poets explain a bit about the poem. We can understand it but sometimes there is a deeper meaning that gets lost. I also can write much more expressively than I can speak to someone. Great poem Sue, floria

But die with all their music in them"

Sue:  I'm sure your mother is very touched by this lovely poem you wrote for her. What a blessing for you to have her to help you through such difficult times.

Lauren~

Step through the
barrier of my mind,
enter my soul,
feel my desire,
let my eyes guide you
into the shadows of my heart
