Bridging the Chasm
By Larry Chadwick

I’m searching for the bridge,
From here to where you are.
You seem so far away,
And it feels so very far.

The chasm in between us,
Is too wide for me to cross.
But just to walk away,
Would be too big a loss.

I’m certain it is covered,
With the love that we have known.
I’ll know it when I see it,
By the way that it is shown.

The path I’m sure is gentle,
But quite possibly overgrown.
Well worth looking for,
Given the memories I have known.

My search is nearly done,
From the looks of what I see.
It appears I found the way,
The bridge for you and me.

My motto is, "any place worth going isn't supposed to be easy"
Our perserverance is what makes the journey worthwhile.
Wonderful poem dear sir~

Excellent motto...but painful. Thanks.

Did you say I'm touched? Sorry...thanks, really.

ps,
Well...I for sure don't know what to say except "thanks".

Noah,
That sounds like a lot of work. Thanks though.

Madame C,
How delightful to see you so active here. Hopefully you are equally strong. And thank you for such kind words.

Martie,
I'm so glad you enjoyed both. I use to have to cross this bridge to get to my home. Such a delightful place in Southern Oregon. It is privately owned and has a wonderful swimming hole down below. Great memories. Thanks.

Larry C...A very powerful poem, wrought with meaning.  I like the use of a bridge in this poem to reach the love that lay in memory's current.   ***Ivy Rose

Wow, thank you. Just the right place at the right time. It was a great place to live.

Karilea,
From a writer whom I admire so much...thank you.

floria,
They are indeed both nostalgic and sentimental sights. Thank you so much.
