You know,
A lot of you told me to stay the same and never change.
If figured it out though,
You needed something to wipe your feet on
As you came in from the rainy world I call life
The welcome mat at the door
Just lying there for you to wipe your muddy problems away
Day in day, day out you and others I called friends
Never did I ask questions
Never did I ask for you to do the same
Then came the last couple of months
I needed to ask
You did not want to be there
So
Now I have decided to stand away from the door
That everyone else is always to muddy
You call me a jerk
The way I see it I am not being a jerk of late,
I just decided no one could walk on me if I stood up
Sorry if I can't help you get the mud off your shoes anymore
But there was too much mud to clean.

There's a peace inside us all
Let it be your friend
It will help you carry on
In the end
There's a peace inside us all

Likewise, you can't be anyone's doormat unless you lay down!!!
