Foolish
By: Noah Eaton
3/25/02

You say you don't know where we're going
Is the space between us growing?
For weeks I have been eager to see you coming
You are the girl I dream of loving
But do you love me too?

Between the lines I am scrutinizing
Into the day I am improvising
To know how you feel for me
Let's be frank now
I don't want to have to worry
Ever, ever again

And I try to be true
I love you
But I can't bear to be selfish
Don't you love me
Talk to me
Or am I just being foolish?

There are times when you slip away
So inadvertently
There are times where I say I love you
But you don't say the same to me
And I struggle to fall asleep

I've built my fence around your heart
Wanting to love you as you are
With you I feel happy and carefree
Is there something you haven't told me
Could it be we've never had
Anything at all...

And I try to be true
I love you
But I can't bear to be selfish
Don't you love me
Talk to me
Or am I just being foolish?

You are the one I need
But I want you to be free
To make your own choices
I was just hoping we'd share a future
I can love you with all my heart
I can't blame you if you think I am foolish

And I try to be true
I love you
But I can't bear to be selfish
Don't you love me
Talk to me
Or am I just being foolish?
Do you love me?
Do you love me?
I don't want to be selfish
Do you love me?
Do you love me?
Or am I just foolish?
I'm a fool
I'm a fool
I hope you understand how much I love you
I'm a fool
I'm a fool
I'm a fool

Plaintive write, Noah.  If we must be fools, let us be fools in love.

Sweet Noah, if you are a fool in love, you have lots of company. I do hope it works out. But if not, you have to know there are so many others who would love and appreciate you.
I know this inseure feeling, it is so difficult.
Peace.

Oh geez, Noah....the anguish that is left behind by your pen.....sigh

its only natural, my friend, to wonder and worry when two are apart.
Heart fences don't work, Noah...no no
but fencing dreams do!  share it with her
and you have my best blessings on fate's handshake with you both

Happy Easter, Mon Ami!

You and at least 50 million other people at any given time wondering about this thing called love...including myself...I love her...but does she love me...time and words and action will tell the story...James

As we love, we open as a flower and become vulnerable, needing reassurance to thrive...
You express that space between the flight into the sun and the crash and burn...humanity. Well done. ThisDiamond
