Be thy deft in gallant stride
The sign of trembling
swells horizon’s visage
to rolling force of thunder

Here stand I, in lily fashion
upon river bottom paths
once flowing
now growing
level minded
in fragile sanctitude

unafraid of swallowing
the soil
to strengthen my hold
wash o’er me boldly
with all imagination
can deliver

for I will never
adhere to silence
I sing in cloud bursts
wilting not
from tired exposure

I am free to love
and to abide in sovereign ground
speckled with dew painted scars
lascivious in reveal
of petal smooth sin

threaten me
if you will
in stormy scowl
and I will smile
upon bottomed tombstones
and float upon your flood
once again
fragrant
as a lily the same
never ashamed

Regina~ You portry such strength in your poetry, not only in your talents but your
choice of words and the way you arrange them,
defining the woman within.
And yes, to feel ashamed of who and what we are is a NOT a good place to be.

Nice writing as always~

Reg,
Resilient as ever I see. One of the many things I like about you! Incredible poetry of nature paralleling life once again. I really like that.
