Who would turn a heart away?
  Given freely and without thought
Now barren, cold and grey
Which once vibrant did beat, all for naught.
She turned away what was freely given
Walked away from loves own gift
By harsh word into solitude driven
Now cold and lifeless and adrift.
Who could kill a loving heart?
  What monster of passionless spite
Could stab it from the very start
Leave it cold and black as night?
There is a void here, once was love
  A crying solitary soul
Praying for death from up above
  To stop the unmercied toll.
Who could stain and commit this feet
  Leave it in walking grave?
Why the one for whom the heart did beat
  And only wished to save.

Chivalry is not dead.  I saw it coughing up lung butter last night, but it was still alive.  I think it has parvo.

(big hugggssssss) I too can't understand how such innocent hearts can always be broken by such unloving fools, sweet friedn, it too saddens me and my heart goes out to all the victims of this kind of ache! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much, this is wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Rob, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

The voice of your poetry is strong and angry... There is a healing in the burn of what hurts us. There is time, and our own soothing voice. (Spoken like a veteran)
Very well done. ThisDiamond

Technically this poem hits the mark. For pure emotion - it surpassed that mark. I enjoyed this sir.
